Surat Shabd Yoga is a devotional meditation timer. It is built on a simple principle: your practice is between you and the Divine. The app collects nothing, tracks nothing, and sends nothing anywhere.
None. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no network communication. It works fully offline.
Your practice history (dates, durations and settings of your sittings) and your preferences (language, timer settings, reminder times) are stored only in the app's private storage on your own phone. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
The optional History → Backup feature creates a file of your practice history and opens your phone's share sheet. Where that file goes (email, WhatsApp, Drive, etc.) is entirely your choice and happens under that service's own privacy policy. The app itself never uploads anything.
The app schedules local notifications on your device for practice bells and optional hourly remembrance reminders. These are generated and handled entirely on your phone.
The app requests notification and exact-alarm permissions solely so the practice bells and reminders can ring at the times you set, even when the screen is locked. No other permissions are used.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
